Ingredients for Cooking Beets Stuffed with Meat
- Beets 10 pieces
- Minced meat (mixed) 500 grams
- Feta Cheese 1 Pack
- Onion 1 piece (large size)
- Dried oregano 1 teaspoon
- Lemon (zest only) 1 piece
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste

Kitchen knife, spoon, cutting board, plate, baking tray, pan, foil.
Step 1: prepare the beets.
Wash the beets and cook until tender, that is, until soft. After cool the vegetables under cold water and peel them.
Cut off the tops of the beets, laying them aside for the time being, and then using a special spoon (it is more convenient), clean the core, leaving the sides thick from 0.7 to 1 centimeter (let the bottom be thicker).
Step 2: mix the filling.
Mix minced meat with fried onions (just finely chop it and fry in butter until golden brown), with feta cheese and grated lemon peel. Add oregano, as well as salt and pepper. Mix everything very carefully to make the mass more homogeneous.
Step 3: bake beets stuffed with meat.
Fill the beets with minced meat stuffing with cheese and spices, put them on a baking sheet and close the top with previously cut tops - lids.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake stuffed beets on top of it with foil for 30-35 minutes. You can always get one and check if the stuffing is ready inside it.
Step 4: serve the beets stuffed with meat.
Stuffed beets are served hot, served with fresh herbs, such as arugula, Chinese cabbage or any other. This holiday dish can also be served with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut salad. The sauce, in my opinion, is not needed here, but you might want to add something, be sure to write in the comments why you are serving stuffed beets.
